Tikkun Leil Shavuot: Shavuot Study, Snacks & Socializing

The holiday of Shavuot celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai; a mystical teaching holds that at midnight that night, the heavens open and we re-experience the moment of revelation. It is traditional on Shavuot to celebrate receiving the Torah with study into the night, accompanied by dairy treats such as cheesecake. So we dedicate the night of Shavuot to a program of study, snacks, and socializing, called a Tikkun Leil Shavuot. This year we will celebrate the 70th Birthday of Israel through Jewish texts and music, led by Rabbi Ken Carr and David Rothberg.
